Marti In the Morning
Wake up with Fickle workday mornings for more music you love and fun with your friend, Marti. Check out what's going on here...

Finally seeing a dream come true! Combining my passion for fitness and helping the community! My strength trainer friend Dylan Chase and I recently created Cycle For Charity. We do special Spinning classes during the winter to promote fitness and raise money for local charities! They are Sunday mornings at 9am thru March 18th at Studio Move, Route 64 in Mendon. We just started it this winter and and are accepting suggestions for fundraisers for next winter, with the first session set for December 2nd.
So far, we have done classes for Teens Living With Cancer, Gilda's Club, Pralid, NMEC, Happy Tails Animal Shelter, Bivona Child Advocacy, Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, Pirate Toy Fund and Lollypop Farm! I lead the class, along with Dylan. All levels welcome. Once one hour fills up, we add another! It's $20 per bike, per hour. The charity keeps all the money. You get a great, fun workout, a tax deduction and a cool t-shirt! See/register for a ride at www,active.com Keyword Cycle For Charity. And "like" Cycle For Charity on Facebook. Any questions call me on the Fickle phone: 222-9393 or email me at marti@fickle933.com. Hope to see you at some rides this winter and next--it's addicting!!

For the space geek in all of us: http://www.ugo.com/movies/100-best-movie-spaceships?pages=10. I'd like the Jetsons house complete with the cool car, conveyor belt & Rosie to do all my housework!

Can't stand it when people wear strong, cheap perfume or cologne to the gym. Don't they know when they sweat it reeks even more, causing the rest of us headaches? It's gross too, if they''ve eaten garlic & sweat it out! EWWW!

Had fun figuring out our porn/star soap opera names. Take the name of your first pet & the street you grew up on to figure it out. MIne is Fuzzy Lewis! Kate's is Kitty Virginia! Yours were pretty funny, too. Hotrod Herman Jones, Clancy Transit, Champ McMaster, Boo Boo Erie, Peggie Winona (and that's a guy!), Nipper wescott, Bubbles Montfort, Jake Cobb, Red Melrose, Ginger West, Rusty Sandbury and Buffy Jefferson! too funny

Results are in: Best Saturday morning cartoon ever? Looney Tunes--Bugs Bunny to be more specific. Also on the list, The Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, Hot Wheels, Josie and the Pussycats and Space Ghost!

Crummy jobs: We've all had at least one. I sold knock off perfume in downtown Buffalo, not realizing I was trespassing and breaking the law. The cops chased us twice on my first day out--I quit that day! Someone else worked for Pat Ercoli at TCBY while in college at RIT. And someone else worked at Gloria Jeans at Greece Ridge mall when she was 16--her boss was husband killer Annette Monstream!!

One of me favorite Irish sayings is "Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, And live every day as if it were your last."

Here's a few painless way to eat less & cut down on calories. Use small plates and tall skinny glasses--you'll automatically eat smaller portions. Chew gum while you bake so you'll be less tempted to sample the batter! Make sure your kids eat everything off thier plates, because if they don't, odds are you'll eat the leftovers so the food doesn't go to waste. And brush after dinner so you know the meal is over. You won't wanna ruin that minty fresh taste! Doing that also helped me quit smoking years ago. Good luck!

My son Andrew wants me to buy a new robot called Nao (now). Nao can speak 5 languages and clean the house. If there was one chore you'd want nao to do, most of you said you'd like Nao to clean your bathroom! Laundry & dishes rounded out the top 3.

Besides making sure your family is safe, what are your storm must-haves? Topping the list, besides family being home & safe was....wait for it....WINE! My kind of party!

What's your favorite pig-out food? Chee-Tos, chipped beef with rye bread dip, chips and dip, Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip, cheese, chocolate, artichoke/spinach dip, Brownie, Country Sweet chicken wings. Basically, anything on a plate that doesn't move!

Great makeout songs! Here's what you told me yours is. Crash Into Me by DMB, Let's Get It On by Marvin gaye, let's Stay Together by Al Green, Survivor The Serach Is Over. Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode and Sweetest Taboo by Sade. Endless Summer Nights by Rochard Marx, Dreamin' by Vanessa Williams. And yes, Any Way You Want It from Journey!

There's some super cool hiking areas around here, within an hour drive or so. One of my favorite places is the Griffis Sculpture Park in Ashford Hollow, just south of Buffalo. There's tons of huge, mostly metal, sculptures from local, national and international artists. I've been there in the summer, but they're open in the winter too for snowshoeing. It's a great place to take the family. If you have any other cool hiking spots, pass 'em along & I'll post them here. Here's the Griffis link: www.griffispark.org

New car smell can kill you! The interior is made with tons of chemicals & we're inhaling it, which can lead to some diseases. Good thing we all have different favorite smells! Chocolate, babies, puppy breath, Christmas cookies, lime, lavender, apple pie, horses (Kate the horse lover!) cinnamon, baking bread. Now I'm hungry! Thanks for your Facebook posts!

OK--we did a Facebook poll. We asked what appliance you could NOT do without! It was close, but the microwave won! We all nixed the dishwasher, because most of us ARE the dishwasher! And we wanna stay around!

Thanks for all the suggestions for Family Movie Night! Here's some flicks that will please everyone: Ella Enchanted, Princess Bride, Toy Story (1&2) Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, Classic Don Knotts movies (really!) Arthur, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Bedtime Stories, Hotel For Dogs, Home Alone (1,2&3), Over The Hedge, Willy Wonka, Ratatoullie. Other selections: Night at the Museum (1&2), Shorts. I'll keep adding to the list!

Here's the link to www.kidsoutandabout.com. Thanks to Debra Ross for putting it all together so we parents can figure out what to do with the kids. Listen every Friday morning at 8:10--Debra comes in with me to chat live!

My son Andrew loves trains. Everything is trains. He watches Dumbo so he for the circus train. I can't watch Dumbo without crying, especially the "Baby Mine" song. Wonder if anyone else chokes up when they watch it, too or what movie makes them cry?

When I was a kid, I'd fake being sick at school a few times so I could go home so you'd think I'd be used to my daughter pulling that stunt on me. Last year, when she started 6th grade, I swear I was picking her up because she was "sick" a few times a week! (OK, stretching it) I didn't keep track, but I am this semester and today was day number one. Yup, first day back after the Christmas break I had to pick her up. But she and I do have colds so I know she's not faking it this time. Do you "fake it" to get out of work or other extracurricular activities?

Text message shorthand help! If your kids or you have gotten text or email abbreviations, this will help! UG2BK: You Got To Be Kidding. 4COL: For Crying Out Loud. WOMBAT: waste of money, brains and time. HAND: have a nice day. and FWIW--For What It's Worth

I stumbled across a website that offers advice and support for people who are divorcing or whose marriages have already ended that way. Not that I'm in the market or anything, but I thought the marriage calculator might be fun to try. I have a 1% chance of my marriage ever ending in divorce. If you'd like to check it out, go to www.divorce360.com.
